In walked a young girl of twenty-eight. Standing in the doorway to the tavern, a streak of white in her midnight black hair cascading down her back, skin contrasting a fairly against the black hair, with eyes pale blue. She wears the only thing she has, her rags, torn and tattered from knit cotton like dress, now seemingly a top and a skirt. As she looks about the quite empty tavern, she sees only three others in the room.

"Greetings Madam," one of the men spoke as he walked slowly to her, bowing slightly. Iliana, sitting at a table, nods to the man smiling a bit happily enjoying the silence of the tavern, and the emptiness as well. "Would you like to come see my castle?" the man asked her as several other conversations began to rise from the others. Shrugging to herself, Iliana saw no harm in seeing the man's castle. Standing to the offer, she walked to him. He, extending his arm to her, and Iliana taking it. As they walked together off to Castle Ravenloft…

Once at this lovely castle, Iliana looked about admiring everything she saw. The place was of grandeur and more like a mansion rather than a castle. "Welcome to my home," he spoke to her smiling. Pointing to a seat, Iliana nodded. "Please, have a seat." Iliana sat still admiring the castle's collection of artifacts and paintings. "Can I get you anything? Foods, water, or wine? " He asked, Iliana shaking her head no then signing slowly with her hands spelling out her response to his question. "No thank you, I am fine." Taking a seat next to her, he watched her unknowingly by Iliana. "Just care to be left alone and quiet?" Iliana nodded slightly agreeing with his question. "I see," he spoke with a slight tone of disappointment, "then, would you care to read a book? I have a fine library here in the castle." Iliana smiled signing again slowly with precision, and also wondering if the man could understand her communication, "that would be very nice." The man clapped his hands, instantly sending everything to a blur and back as normal, except there was now bookcases and shelves of books on end in view. The numbers of books were overwhelming, so many that a normal bookstore would look as if it were only library in itself. "what book do you wish to read?" he asked her. Iliana shook her head no signing, "I do not wish to read," a creasing smile slightly enchanting her lips. "oh? I thought you said you wanted to read?" he asked a bit surprized by the turning of events. Again, Iliana signed back to his question, "I said it would be nice, but I have changed my mind."
